RIYADH: Commerce and Industry Minister Tawfiq Al-Rabiah urged the public and public sectors to create a conducive environment for young men and women to offer them career opportunities and also make them successful entrepreneurs in the Kingdom.

He was speaking after inaugurating the 2nd National Business Women Forum (NBWF) on Tuesday. The forum is being held under the aegis of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to identify the challenges facing Saudi businesswomen and ways of overcoming them.

The two-day forum sought to educate businesswomen in the light of new regulations to streamline the investment procedures.

Al-Rabiah said the forum would pave the way for women to invest in viable ventures to enable them to take part in the nation’s economic development.

The event was organized by the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC). Delivering opening address, CSC President Abdul Rahman Al-Zamil said: “There is a total of 130,000 commercial registration of women and their total deposits in the banks has reached nearly SR375 billion.”
