JEDDAH: JEDDAH: The Saudi cabinet welcomed on Monday the United Nations' decision to remove from its child rights blacklist the name of countries currently helping restore the legitimate government of Yemen.
In its weekly session chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah, the cabinet commended the UN decision, which overturned a previous assertion that the Saudi-led coalition had violated child rights during the Yemeni conflict. It rejected the initial UN report for not being based on "accurate and reliable information about the coalition's efforts."
On recent terror incidents globally, the cabinet condemned attacks in Beirut, Istanbul and Orlando and reiterated the kingdom's rejection of terrorism in all its forms, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s efforts to combat terror.
The cabinet was also briefed on pilgrimage services provision for those visiting the holy mosques during the holy month of Ramadan and efforts by various government bodies to ensure that plans are fulfilled cohesively.
