Madinah Traffic Department has stepped up a campaign in different parts of the city to catch violators particularly those who are breaking the law while driving.

Col. Omar Nazzawi, director of safety at the Madinah Traffic Department, said the campaign is targeted at the prominent violations such as blurred number plates, cutting across lanes and passing vehicles across the yellow lines at high speed, adding that all these violations carry a fine of up to SR500 and confiscation of the vehicle for 15 days.
