The Saudi National Campaign to Support Syrian Brothers has provided charity assistance for the upcoming winter season to 542 Syrian families living as refugees in Lebanon.

The campaign distributed blankets and food to the refugees living in the town of Majdal Anjar in Lebanon.

According to Walid Jalal, director of the campaign, relief aids including clothes, covers and food have been distributed to Syrians refugees, taking into account ages of different Syrian groups in order to best provide for their needs.

Syrian residents in the Kingdom have lauded Saudi efforts that seek to enhance health services available to Syrian refugees in various countries.

Meanwhile, Dr. Badr bin Abdul Rahman Al-Samhan, regional director of the campaign, said the group has created a new health clinic for Syrian refugees in Jordan’s Zaatari camp. The clinic has provided treatment to more than 12,871 patients since January this year.

Al-Samhan said the specialized health centers at the Zaatari camp comprise 11 clinics, including specialized cardiology, dermatology and surgery units, adding that the clinics also include facilities to handle minor surgeries.

“The medical staff at the clinics receive more than 2,500 patients every week,” he said.

The relief efforts have also been responsible for the distribution of winter clothes and blankets to 1,200 displaced Syrian families in the Lebanese city of Sidon.
