A group of women attacked some teachers at a primary school for girls in the Baqaa province of the Hail region, Monday morning.

They assaulted the teachers by beating and cursing them before leaving the school.

The media spokesman of the Hail police, Col. Abdulaziz Al-Zenaidi, told Arab News that at about 10:45 a.m. Monday, the police station of Baqaa Province received a report from the local education department about the presence of some women at the new Primary School for Girls.

The women allegedly assaulted some teachers at the school and they left. The victims received simple injuries.

“The necessary measures were taken and we are looking for the offenders and will be seeking their identification, and take further action,” Al-Zenaidi added.

Everything is still under investigation, according to Al-Zenaidi.

A source close to the school teachers said, “Yesterday, one of teachers while supervising the students, took away a can of Pepsi from one of the students, which was perfectly in line with the instruction of the Education Department that prohibits soft drinks in school premises.

On Monday morning, it was stated, the teacher was surprised by the presence of a number of women who included the parents of the student from whom the Pepsi drink was taken away. They assaulted the teacher in front of the other teachers and students. Even some teachers who intervened in the matter were not spared.

The source added that one of the teachers contacted the police of Baqaa, which in turn initiated an inquiry into the incident.
