RIYADH: The winners of the Colors of Saudi Arabia Forum took a unique trip to the shores of Maqna Beach, at the tip of the Gulf of Aqaba, Tabuk, and captured the marine, ecological environments and tourism attractions to help promote the maritime tourism sector in the region, as well as in the Kingdom.
The forum is the largest event in the Kingdom for photography and short films in tourism, culture and heritage to encourage professional and amateur photographers.
The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTNH) organized the trip under its program “Photographers Tours” that included five photographers from different regions of the Kingdom. The cruise for the maritime trip lasted for three days where the shutterbugs captured the marine and ecological environments as well as a number of tourism attractions in the area to help promote maritime tourism in the Kingdom, an SCTNH Media Department said on Monday.
The trip comprised Saudi professional photographers specialized in underwater photography and covered tourism and natural sites in the Tabuk region, including the Taib Ism Valley, which is distinguished for its sandy beach that breaks through region’s mountains forming a mountainous pass between the sea and the valley, according to an official from SCTNH.
He said the photographers captured distinguished landmarks along the beach, including the unique coral reefs, picturesque colored anemones, and other marine organisms including many species of fish.
At the end of the trip, the photographers took commemorative underwater photos holding the flag with the slogan of the “Colors of Saudi Arabia Contest.”
The Saudi Colors Forum has organized 11 trips to eight tourism sites, which included over 70 professional photographers within the framework of the “Photographers Tours” program with the aim of enabling them to photograph tourism sites and destinations, which were previously inaccessible to them, to capture and publish their panoramas for the public across the Kingdom.
This year, the program plans to organize over 30 photographers’ trips covering other tourism sites and regions with chances provided to other winners of the colors forum.
The next scheduled destination is Al-Kharj and Sidair municipalities and Jeddah precincts.
The “Photographers Tour” program has a separate provision for female professional photographers under the supervision of female escorts from the ladies’ department at the SCTNH.
