RIYADH: Car dealerships and rental offices are next in line to be fully nationalized in the Ministry of Labor and Social Development’s plan to replace expats with Saudis in a number of sectors and industries.

Sources reveal the ministry is currently working on establishing a timeline of targeted sectors to be nationalized, including vegetable markets and gold souks. Ahmed Al-Humaidan, deputy minister of labor and social development, said: “Every commercial sector that has capable Saudi employees is a sector that we want to nationalize, and retail sectors on the whole are going to be targeted.” (AN)
