A cross-section of Saudi society Tuesday denounced the deadly terror attack on the Saudi-Iraq border in the northern Arar region and asserted that terrorism is contrary to Islam, a peace-loving religion promoting humanism.

Sadaka Yehia Fadil, a member of the Shoura Council, condemned the terror attack and asserted that the terrorists will have to pay the price for their inhuman act as concerted efforts will go on to deter terrorists and ensure full public safety and security.

He said the Border Guard personnel were performing their duties when suicide bombers attacked and now we can see the extent of the brutality of the perpetrators of terrorism.

“They say they are fighting for Islam, but actually they indulge in anti-Islamic activities and stand exposed now,” he added.

Slamming the rare terror attack, Mohammed N. Al-Saeed, a former Shoura Council member said: “We have been fighting to combat terrorism for a long time and being a concerned citizen it is our duty to stand with the government and our brave soldiers in their fight against terrorism.”

He added: “Terrorism is contrary to Islam, its values and the divine law.”

Condemning the act of terror, Saud M. Al-Suwaileh, who works with the Ministry of Finance as an economic specialist and a former manager of US-Saudi Business Council’s Riyadh office, said that the Almighty Allah has forbidden indulgence in such practices and the teachings of Islam prohibit violence.

“In this fight against terror, we stand by our government,” he added.

Abdullah Inayat, a PR executive, decried the act of terror as anti-Islamic as well as inhuman.

“Our teachings value life, and such acts of terror are forbidden in Islam. How can anyone take life of others; this is completely inhuman,” he said.

Three Border Guard personnel were killed and as many injured in the suicide attack on Arar region frontier with Iraq on Monday, in which four terrorists were also killed.

Border vigilance in the region was stepped up recently to secure the frontier.
