RIYADH: Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to France, following his a successful two-week visit to the United States, evoked positive reactions from a cross section of Saudi society, with the citizens describing it as a win-win situation for the trusted allies.
The prince's historic visit to the US and France assumes great significance in the wake of Vision 2030, being spearheaded by the Council of Economic and Development Affairs and chaired by the deputy crown prince, as it will help promote broader cooperation among the allies with the countries handsomely contributing to the economic diversification as envisaged in the vision document, said Salman Al-Ansari, founder and president of the Saudi American Public Relation Affairs Committee (SAPRAC).
Speaking to Arab News, Al-Ansari said: “The Saudi-US relationship reached great height during the visit in business and strategic areas and on regional issues for better coordination. It was indeed a great move toward the economic diversification program for post-oil era coordination, where oil is not a strategic commodity.” “This was the first visit by the deputy crown prince after the unveiling of Vision 2030, and has great economic aspects of attracting investments, to which he was successful,” he observed.
Applauding the historic visit, Majed Abdullah Alhedayan, a senior columnist and legal consultant at the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: “The visit reflects distinct hospitality on two aspects: first the political side— where the confluence of senior political leaders, who have a role in decision making at the international level to draw the attention the media to the magnitude of Prince Mohammed’s clear vision toward political and economic conditions experienced by the international community, especially in the Middle East and North Africa region, and their impact in the field of economic, social and cultural development.”
In terms of the second aspect, the visit takes on an economic trend, which contributed to promote the Kingdom as an investment opportunity attractive for foreign direct investment, as reflected by the signing of several memorandums of understanding that will pave the way for the establishment of economic projects in various fields.
