MADINAH: The Civil Defense in Madinah spotted 12 safety violations in the city and has fined SR247,000 as penalty on violators.
Col. Mohammed bin Mabrouk Rehaily, director general of Civil Defense in Madniah, said his department has inspected various buildings in the city to ensure they don’t pose any risk to people in and around them.
The inspection teams checked kitchens, emergency exits, safety systems and equipment, including fire-fighting hoses, and elevators in non-designated areas.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, head of the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques, held talks with Civil Defense officials to ensure adequate security at the Two Holy Mosques during the holy month of Ramadan. Al-Sudais called for providing best services to pilgrims and lauded the efforts of the security force in this regard.
Also recently, Lt. Gen. Othman bin Nasser Al-Mihrij, director of public security, inspected the implementation of the field plan for security.
He was briefed on the mechanism of the plan that aims to ensure the safety of the Umrah performers. Also, Maj. Gen. Abdullah Hassan Al-Zahrani said his department has chalked out a comprehensive plan to facilitate comfortable travel within the holy cities.
During a press conference in Makkah, Al-Zahrani said 3,500 soldiers and 170 officers have been deployed to implement the traffic plan in the city.
