RIYADH: The Civil Defense in Makkah has sought intensified efforts by its officers and personnel to render services to pilgrims during the holy month of Ramadan.
“Many of these pilgrims have traveled far to perform their Islamic rites. Let’s make their pilgrimage something to remember,” Director Brig. Gen. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Dilaiwi said.
He added that Civil Defense teams should go the extra mile in rendering services to pilgrims while they’re in the Kingdom because it’s part of their duty.
Al-Dilaiwi made the statement during a meeting to ensure support and convenience for pilgrims, who are stressed not only because of fatigue but also because of the hot weather.
He added that Civil Defense work “is not limited to routine work but also volunteerism.”
“Volunteerism is part of our work, which is to help pilgrims in every possible way, in order to facilitate the performance of Umrah,” Al-Dilaiwi said during the meeting.
He also said that the various Civil Defense teams will continue to discharge their responsibilities and exert extra efforts around the clock to implement its plan during the holy month.
“Rescue units should also be ready and alert in case of emergency. They should ensure that pilgrims are not only safe during the holy month of Ramadan but also go back to their respective countries safely,” he said.
He added that the good service they receive from Civil Defense forces would be one of the good memories which the pilgrims will take back home as they leave for their respective countries.
