JEDDAH: Jeddah Municipality’s cleaning program entered its third phase, where officials focused on commercial areas, markets, restaurants, and entertainment facilities in the city. The campaign started on Sept. 13, and will continue till Oct. 2.
Engineer Sami bin Hamid, director general of hygiene and cleaning, said that the campaign was launched to provide healthy environment to the residents of the city.
The drive also aims to fight against street vendors and unhealthy consumption of food products.
Authorities also inspected different food outlets inside King Abdul Aziz International Airport to ensure that pilgrims returning to their respective countries get healthy food. Authorities have pledged to continue inspections of the Haj terminal with a total of nine inclusive tours daily.
He said Jeddah Municipality has recruited more than 6,000 workers to ensure the security and safety of the public.
