Muhammad Ahmad Bafeil Al-Amoudi Electricals Company in Jeddah was shut down following the discovery of more than 88,000 imported parts from Taiwan that bore the logo ‘Made in Saudi Arabia.’

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s inspection and control team had raided the company and found the parts, mostly keys and switches.

The company had removed any reference on the parts indicating they had been manufactured outside the Kingdom.

The parts were confiscated on the spot and the owner was summoned for investigation and further proceedings.

Earlier, the ministry teams conducted a comprehensive survey of the stores in Jeddah’s Al-Khumra district to check the regularity of their work, and prevent any suspicious operations that might harm consumers.

The confiscated items included 1,500 pieces of suction motors made in China, 56,144 Tablon keys ready for sale and 57 damaged spotlights, repaired and repackaged in new boxes.
