The National Society for Human Rights (NSHR) in Madinah described the environment inside the deportation center in the city as “very bad.” The number of arrested violators has made the detention area extremely crowded.

It said in a statement that the area is dirty with no public utilities. It also mentioned the bad ventilation inside the place. The air-conditioners are not sufficient for this number of people.

The criticism came after members of the society made a fact-finding tour of the center to inspect the conditions of detainees.

NSHR member Sharaf Al-Qurafi said the society applauds the efforts of the deportation center and their humanitarian treatment of the detainees, but nonetheless the conditions inside the place are very bad.

“The one hangar can accommodate 350 detainees only, but their number well exceeds 500 persons,” said Al-Qurafi.
