Crown Prince Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, held talks here on Monday with Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on major regional and international developments.

The two sides also explored ways of strengthening the historic relations between the countries.

Deputy Crown Prince Muqrin, National Guard Minister Prince Miteb bin Abdullah, Interior Minister Prince Mohammed bin Naif and Deputy Foreign Minister Prince Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah attended the talks.

The two leaders expressed satisfaction at the status of bilateral relations and discussed various issues of mutual interest during the meeting.

They hoped that relations would reach new heights to protect mutual interests and boost cooperation and security.

Crown Prince Salman expressed his hope that Saudi Arabia’s rapport with Pakistan would be strengthened further. He also pointed out that he considered Pakistan his second home.

Sharif commended Saudi Arabia’s leading role in the Muslim world. The two sides agreed that high-level exchanges through visits between the two countries were essential for further deepening bilateral ties. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share a commonality of views on regional and international issues.
