A memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Council of Saudi Engineers (CSE) and its counterpart from the federal state of Baden Wuerttemberg, Germany on Tuesday night.

Dr. Ghazi Saaed Al-Abasi, CSE secretary general told Arab News, “The MOU is a fillip for the CSE because it enables about 15 members or more to go on scholarship and study in Baden Wuerttemberg.”

The signing ceremony was held on the sidelines of the visit of a 30-member delegation from Baden Wuerttemberg which is scheduled to leave the Kingdom on Friday.

Al-Abasi said that board members of the CSE went to Hafr Al-Batin on Wednesday to meet with the city Gov. Abdulmuhsin Al-Otaishan to discuss the possibility of setting up a CSE chapter in the region.

“We discussed the necessity of forming a CSE chapter in Hafr Al-Batin so that the almost 200 engineers in the city could be accredited with the CSE membership,” he said adding that the engineers could not officially practice their profession unless they were accredited CSE members.

“The visit to Hafr Al Batin is part of the drive to recruit members.
