JEDDAH: The students of the Masters in Business Administration (MBA) program for 2016 at Dar Al-Hekma University (DAH) organized the first ever female social responsibility forum on “Wisdom Trilogy” to spread awareness about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at the university premises.
The forum’s aim was to assess the level of participation of CSR programs in Saudi Arabia, especially in private sectors, and to spread awareness about these programs and their contribution to society — economically, socially and environmentally.
The forum was convened under the leadership of Dr. Saleha Abdine, the dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, and Dr. Khaldoon Abed, MBA course lecturer at King Abdulaziz University and instructor at Dar Al-Hekma University. The forum brought together top leaders to share experiences and demonstrate methods of CSR management.
Several top officials from the business industries and students from different universities attended the event, who focused on defining CSR and gave the attendees an opportunity to learn more about CSR activities and programs.
Dr. Abdine said: “This forum was initiated by the MBA students, gathering people who are role modes in real life and which gives us the message that it is for the citizens to save water, energy, environment and to encourage education and so on.”
In her keynote speech, Dina Al-Nahdi, co-founder and executive manager of ENTEC company, discussed the assessment of CSR awareness in the Saudi private sector.
