Customs officers on the Kingdom’s northern borders have foiled an attempt to smuggle nearly 5 million Captagon pills into the Kingdom hidden within a consignment of goods sent through the border point, local media said.

The pills were found to be hidden inside egg tray cartons loaded onto trucks, Ibrahim Al-Enezi, director-general of Haditha Customs, told local media.

“The smugglers had cut part of the tray to put the spills inside,” he was quoted as saying.

Customs officers have thwarted even the most intricate of smuggling attempts in the past, he said.
