RIYADH: Danish Ambassador Ole Frijs-Madsen outlined the excellent relations binding his country and Saudi Arabia during the Danish National Day held recently in the capital. Riyadh Gov. Prince Faisal bin Bandar was the guest of honor at the event.
“The visit early this year of the Danish crown prince and crown princess to Saudi Arabia signifies such excellent ties between the two countries,” the envoy said.
The delegation included three government ministers, representatives of 43 Danish companies, and a group of 110 individuals.
He noted that various new agreements and partnerships were signed and Danish competencies within designs, food, health, energy efficiency and clean energy solutions were presented to Saudi partners.
“This important visit along with other visits underlines our constructive relations and cooperation with Saudi Arabia, which has increased over the years,” he said.
He said that his country wishes the success of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 implementation.
“The Kingdom has launched an ambitious vision for 2030 with a number of decisive elements which set clear target for Saudi Arabia to meet the future aspirations,” he said.
"Denmark stands ready to lend its support with expertise and best practice,” he said.
“We are happy to see women playing an increasingly important role in Saudi society and at the workplace. I have no doubt that women will be key drivers in the new vision for the Kingdom,” he said.
He said his country was proud to be co-hosting the “Women Deliver" conference in Copenhagen, which will focus on issues such as health, rights and well-being of girls and women.
“Over the last five years, the Danes have been elected three times by the United Nations Happiness Report to be the happiest people on Earth,” he added.
