Dar Al-Hekma (DAH) University’s ninth annual two-day career fair concluded earlier this week on a successful note. The career fair hosted over 40 national and international companies and offered more than 200 job openings.

The fair aimed to facilitate for university students from Dar Al-Hekma and other universities as well as graduates and alumnae career opportunities and introduce them to potential employers.

“Providing job opportunities and preparing our students and graduates for the national and international job market is one of our biggest priorities here at Dar Al-Hekma University. We strive to graduate accomplished women, leaders and entrepreneurs,” said Suhair Hassan Al-Qurashi, DAH’s president.

This year’s career fair was unlike previous events as the organizers utilized technology as a medium to facilitate the process of searching and applying for jobs. DAH cooperated with Mihnati website, a leading job site in the Kingdom and one of the fastest growing online recruitment solutions provider in the GCC and Arab world, to create a portal, which enabled job seekers to post their resumes and view job openings.

The university also organized two workshops titled “Be ready for your next job” and “The reality of the job market.” In addition, mock interviews were conducted at two levels to help students experience a real life job interview and at the same time receive a personalized learning experience.

The portal will remain accessible for one month, enabling companies to post job vacancies and allowing graduates more time to search and apply for relevant positions.

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), Procter and Gamble and Unilever were among the international companies that participated in the fair. Saudi Injaz, Nahdi pharmaceuticals and Jamjoom Group were some of the national companies that took part.

Representatives from Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital expressed their satisfaction with the outcome of the fair, saying the event was well organized and professional.
