TAIF: The delay in the delivery of secondary school curriculum books to the department of education in Taif affected the efforts of the department's plans to be ready for the forthcoming school year in a number of schools.

The textbooks are expected to be provided sometime around the end of this week or early next week.

Abdullah Al-Zahrani, director of educational media at the Taif department of education, said after coordinating with the stores of the department, the majority of textbooks were delivered to schools. “

Further coordination efforts are being made with the Ministry of Education and press houses to complete delivery of the remaining textbooks this week,” he added.

Meanwhile, the education department in Taif received 29 education projects at a total cost of SR255 million in preparation for the new academic year.

General Director of Education Mohammad bin Hassan Al-Shamrani said the projects received were equipped with the most advanced educational tools and technologies, furniture and other necessities to provide a suitable school environment for both male and female students.

“There are 42 further school projects being implemented at a total cost of SR336 million. The department also renovated more than 14 school buildings at a cost of SR2 million,” said the general director.

On another related issue, the director of the education department east of Taif, Fahad Al-Thouwaibi, discussed during a meeting with supervisors in his office the means to address the issues and problems facing teachers, such as class schedules and the time of entering classes, and the controls to admit first grade students.
