The International Islamic Relief Organization Saudi Arabia (IIROSA) will hold its 9th General Assembly meeting at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Jeddah on Sept. 6 to discuss its present and future humanitarian programs.

Abdullah Al-Turki, secretary-general of the Muslim World League, will preside over the meeting to be attended by more than 200 dignitaries from around the world.

IIROSA Secretary General Ehsan Saleh Taieb emphasized the significance of the general assembly meeting, saying it would discuss a host of issues with a view to further boosting the organization’s relief and welfare activities.

“The general assembly will review the minutes of the previous meeting, including some of the constructive ideas presented by the members to strengthen the organization and meet global relief requirements,” Taieb told Arab News.

The meeting will accept new members to the General Assembly, discuss amendments to IIROSA’s constitution and consider other issues that will contribute to enhancing the various activities of the organization, he said.

An external auditor will present a report on IIROSA’s accounts for the financial year 2012-2013, Taieb said, adding that the assembly would also select external auditors for the fiscal year 2013-2014. A documentary film on IIROSA’s achievements during the past year will be screened during the meeting.
