Aalami Urdu Markaz (AUM), Jeddah’s prominent literary organization, will release Pakistani diplomat Syed Abu Ahmad Akif’s book, “Passionate Passages: Journeys to the Land of Desire,” at La Sani Restaurant in Jeddah on Saturday, Nov. 30.

According to Markaz President Athar Abassi, Pakistani Consul General Aftab Ahmed Khokher will be the chief guest. Among those who will present their critique of Akif’s travelogue are journalist and writer Muhammad Mujahid Syed, poet Syed Sabihuddin Rahmani and Urdu aficionados Dr. Irfan Hashmi and Amir Khurshid Rizvi.

Akif is a writer of many books and currently serves as the head of the Pakistani Haj Mission in Jeddah.
