Eighty people with disabilities will get special training here for two weeks to help them enter the workplace.

The Jeddah-based Batterjee Education and Training Academy (BETA) organized the training forum, which will start from Ramadan 4.

Khalid bin Abduljalil Batterjee, chairman of the academy and head of the forum's organization committee, said the event is being held to improve the skills of people with disabilities.

He said this was part of BETA's social responsibility program. Around 150 experts and participants would take part in the forum.

He said professional experts would carry out the training in cooperation with the Canadian International Career College (CICC). Successful participants would be given certificates.

He called on companies to sponsor the training of outstanding trainees. There would be a series of events held for various sectors of the economy, he said.

Najwa Hussein, director of the female section at the academy, said the forum is aimed at helping people with disabilities reach their full potential and become active members of society.

Hussein said the event was unique in that the organizing and supervising committee, comprising Azzam Abu Salem and a team of trainers, decided to include the families of disabled participants in the training courses as support.

She said that trainees would get skills development in management, communication, customer service, administration and positive thinking.

Mohammad bin Salem Al-Ghamdi, a consultant at the academy and supervisor of the forum, said the training would help people with disabilities develop a love for learning and improve their work and personal skills.
