The National Commission for Drug Control announced its campaign to increase awareness about drug abuse and how to prevent it.

The announcement came during a visit by the Deputy Minister of Interior Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Salem to Riyadh Municipality office.

A number of activities will be organized with the aim to highlight dangers of narcotics, as well as distribution of photos and informational videos about drugs at relevant sites. Leaflets containing warnings about drug use will also be distributed in Arabic, English, Urdu, and French.

Part of drive also involves working with local universities to train fresh graduates about how to create a drug-free society, an official said.

As part of the drive, organizers will appeal to local celebrities, athletes, intellectuals, and famous media personalities warns about drugs through social media, newspapers and magazines.

The deputy minister called on doctors to provide an extra two-hour service to help drug addicts get rid of the nuisance.
