JEDDAH: Twelve people of the directorate general of education of Makkah region won the Abdul Samad Al-Qurashi (ASQ) Award for Educational Excellence this year, local media reported on Saturday.
Mohammad bin Mehdi Al-Harthi, director general of education in Makkah, and Mohammad Abdul Saad Al-Qurashi, executive president of the ASQ group, announced the winners of four categories of the award.
He said that 22 judges and an educationist evaluated the entries. There were total 54 entries, out of which four were rejected due to non-compliance of terms and conditions.
Al-Harthi said that the award was in recognition of educational works by providing proper and competitive environment for male and female students. He said that the value of the award would be increased in coming years.
Mohammad Abdul Samad Al-Qurashi said that the award is part of the social initiatives of the ASQ in view of the supreme leadership’s vision for excellence in various areas.
