TAIF: The Ministry of Education plans to replace several long-serving and underperforming directors with younger staff by the year-end, according to a report in a local publication on Tuesday.

The ministry is currently looking at the service records of officials in leadership positions before taking any decision. The plan is aimed at boosting the performance of the ministry by removing people who have failed to perform for years, the report stated.

Sources were quoted as saying that the ministry wanted to ensure that all peripheral issues that had little do with the education process be resolved. The ministry was looking for new blood to take up leadership positions at director level, they said.
