RIYADH: A new program on Sanaa Satellite Television will be aired to help Yemeni children in Saudi Arabia. The program will be broadcast from Riyadh on the third day of Eid.

"Entitled ‘Eid’s Hope and Love,’ the program will be on air from 8 p.m. until 10 p.m. every night for seven days,” said Mohsin Shaikh Al-Hassan, a well-known Islamic scholar and author, who will be the host of the new show.

He noted that well-known Saudi and Yemeni personalities have expressed their support for the program and that various companies in Yemen have donated gifts and prizes for the children who participate. One such donor is a company called Treem from Hadhramaut in south Yemen.

“Gift-giving to the Yemeni children in the Kingdom during Eid is both good and timely. It also coincides with the celebration of the Saudi National Day,” Al-Hassan said.

He said that well-known Saudi and Yemeni personalities will be guests for the duration of the show, including Abdullah Al-Dael, a professor at King Saud University; Prince Naif Al-Thunayan, media head at KSU; Hia Al-Qabbani, also a media personality; and Abdul Mohsen Al-Hokair, a well-known businessman.

Al-Hassan’s previous TV programs were all enthusiastically received by the public. His earlier programs include “Security For the Kingdom” on Tabah Channel, “Jobs on Air” on Al Danah Saudi TV, and Al Khair Yagma (Gathering for Happiness) on Al Margaub Saudi TV.

Al-Hassan added that after Eid, he would be running another program called “Personalities in Yemen,” also on Sanaa Satellite TV. “The program will discuss well-known Yemeni personalities who include scholars, poets, writers, businessmen, artists, musicians, engineers, lawyers and politicians,” he said.
