The Philippine mission in Riyadh held its 15th Embassy on Wheels (EOW) in Alkhobar last Friday and Saturday and conducted 517 consular transactions.

The six-member EOW team, led by Consul-General Marshall Louis Alferez, processed 438 passport applications, 51 passport extensions, eight lost passport services and 20 birth registrations. The EOW also released 938 new passports.

Moreover, the outreach mission issued 12 passports to Filipinos who come from the provinces hit by typhoon Haiyan. This enables them to travel immediately to the Philippines to help their distressed relatives.

Alferez expressed appreciation to the Filipino community in the Eastern Province for having continuously helped to make the embassy’s consular missions succeed.

He also informed the Filipinos in the region that the embassy would have a 10-day passport service in Alkhobar for those who have been unable to obtain passport appointments this year.

He said the service will run from Dec. 8 to 12 and Dec. 15 to 19 at the Gulf Center Building from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
