The Emergency and Crisis Management Center at the Makkah Health Affairs Department has announced its readiness to assist pilgrims in fulfilling their religious duties. Hattan Boujan, director of ECMC, said preparations were made in cooperation with hospitals in Makkah and the holy sites.

“We have provided them with medical evacuation plans and we checked hospitals to make sure that they are ready and fully equipped to handle any situation, especially the application of emergency and evacuation plans,” he said.

“We took into account several external and internal scenarios to ascertain the level of preparedness and boost the readiness of staff, with the participation of government agencies such as the Civil Defense, Red Crescent and public security,” he said. “We have also established coordination channels between hospitals and housing centers for easy identification of field teams in case they are needed,” he said.
