More than 20,000 jobs will be made available for Egyptian expats thanks to coordination between the Egyptian Embassy’s labor office and different public and private sector companies in the Kingdom.

Hasan Raddad, labor attaché at the Egyptian Embassy, told Arab News that the embassy is striving to secure employment among Egyptian workers.

“We monitor contracts and salaries and anticipate obstacles with sponsors,” he said.

“The embassy is also closely following up on labor problems facing Egyptian nationals within the Kingdom, resolving 400 sponsorship transfer issues last month,” he said.

Raddad lauded the Kingdom’s effort to enhance labor services, including a recently launched website for labor feedback and another devoted to monitoring labor rights. Raddad also lauded a decision to allow workers to transfer onto other sponsors pending the resolution of disputes.

The labor attaché warned Egyptian workers not to deal with 14 Saudi companies and 13 Egyptian companies that had been blacklisted for irregularities and fraud and whose names are posted at both the embassy and consulate.

Raddad urged Egyptian expats to secure a contract with a clear list of rights and duties prior to beginning work.
