Jazan police have arrested a female ringleader of car thieves. According to local authorities the woman hunted for the victims, who would drive fancy new cars in front of shops and commercial centers by riding with them.

After a while, the “Lady Lure” would ask the driver to step down to buy some items for her, while the engine was running.

Meanwhile, other members of the gang would follow the car until the driver stepped down, an opportunity used by one of the thieves to get behind the wheel and speed away.

Jazan police director Maj. Gen. Nasser Al-Duwaissi directed a department of detectives in the region to follow up similar cases of car robberies by setting up ambushes to arrest the criminals red-handed.

The team managed to collect the necessary information that led to the arrest of one member of the gang. Through his confession, the police was able to reach the head of the ring and the rest of the thieves, who numbered 10 in total. After a series of interrogations, all of the criminals confessed to the charges.

In order to curb car thefts in the Kingdom, Al-Duwaissi appealed to the country's citizens and residents to never leave the vehicle while the engine is running.
