Eastern Province Gov. Prince Saud bin Naif recently traveled from Dammam to Hofuf by train as part of his inspection of new upgraded rail facilities in the region.

Prince Saud was accompanied by Mohammed bin Khalid Al-Suwaiket, president of the Saudi Railways Organization.

The governor also checked out the train station in Dammam including its services and lounges. He visited the train's automatic control room that allows route-switching and monitoring remotely.

The system enables the train’s driver, maintenance staff and commissioners to contact each other using cutting-edge communication technology developed by European manufacturers.
