RIYADH: The Saudi Red Crescent (SRC) operations rooms received 159 reports of various emergencies in the Eastern Province (EP) on the first day of Ramadan, said Fahd Al-Ghamdi, spokesman of the SRC.
He said the calls included 69 traffic accidents, fires and other incidents, and 90 communications about medical emergencies, stressing that emergency medical services were provided for 100 cases who were then taken to EP hospitals.
Fifty-nine of these cases received treatment on the spot and did not need hospital admission, and one patient who called for medical assistance died.
“The emergency communications varied in Dammam and its affiliated cities and villages, including 29 crash incidents, a run-over accident, three overturned vehicle accidents, 13 reports of patients who fell unconscious, seven fires, seven falling cases, a thermal spasm case, and others,” the SRC spokesman said.
