Funeral prayers were performed for former Education Minister Mohammed Al-Rasheed, who died Saturday.

The funeral, which was held at King Khaled Mosque in Riyadh, was attended by Deputy Riyadh Gov. Prince Turki bin Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz and a large number of Saudis and residents.

Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh led the prayer, which was also attended by Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thunayan, chairman of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, and Prince Abdul Aziz bin Salman, assistant minister of petroleum and mineral resources for petroleum affairs.

Al-Rasheed, 69, died following a heart attack.
