A special court in Dammam convicted former education director in the Eastern Province and leaders in the directorate of employing 500 workers in violation of the regulations regarding employment.

Some of the workers rejected the allegations of being given jobs with disregard for the regulations governing employment.

The Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution filed lawsuits against five officials who occupied former leadership positions, with the first sessions starting five months ago.

Sources said that the first accused had the highest number of accusations for employing women without putting out advertisements in the newspapers prior to hiring them.

The Ministry of Civil Service has made it mandatory for public institutions to advertise vacant positions in dailies. In addition, there are regulations governing the occupying of these vacancies which have to be followed and which ensure that there is a unified mechanism to select the best people for the job.
