Representatives from the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) revealed that the results of the examination taken by Filipino professionals on Oct. 15, 16 and 17 would be announced in two weeks.

“The results of the three-day examination will be sent to the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh and Consulate General in Jeddah by diplomatic pouch,” Dan V. Malayang told Arab News. The announcement was made following queries from examinees and those intending to take the exam next year.

Malayang, a lawyer and head of the delegation, which administered the examination in Jeddah, said that he was optimistic regarding the results of the examination, which is called Special Board Licensure Examinations (SPLB).

He thanked the Philippine Professionals Organization (PPO) in Jeddah for assisting the team.

In Riyadh, Modesto N. Guibas, PPO chairman in Riyadh, expressed his appreciation to the PRC delegation headed by Lily Ann Baldago.

“The examination went smoothly. The five-member delegation included a lawyer who was available to assist examinees on legal matters about the examination. If there was a legal problem, it could be solved right there and then,” he said.

He said that there were 380 examinees. Alexis Serapio, PPO chairman in Alkhobar, also extended his gratitude to the PRC delegation in Riyadh for their efficiency in conducting the examination. “The 140 examinees from Alkhobar came to Riyadh for the examination and took it without a problem and were optimistic about their chances of passing,” he said.

Twenty of the candidates undertook the examination for mechanical engineers; 33 for civil engineers, 27 for electrical engineers, 23 for architects, 24 for nurses, and 13 for certified public accountants.

Serapio said there were some candidates who were not allowed to take the examination because they did not possess sufficient documents.

The PRC delegations, which administered the examinations in Jeddah and Riyadh, left the Kingdom for the Philippines yesterday.
