Several government ministries are planning to create security guard jobs for women at hospitals, female-only schools, some shopping centers, wedding halls, and other areas that require female security personnel.

This comes as increasing numbers of Saudi women are entering the workplace in the private and public sectors.

Sources confirmed that a study is being conducted by a special committee consisting of members of the Labor, Interior, Education, and Health ministries, and technical training organizations.

Sources said that the project would create work for Saudi women without higher education or university degrees, and build on the Saudization of jobs at women’s accessories and clothing shops.

The study would include finding ways to comply with the Kingdom's regulations on women in the workplace, which includes privacy issues.

The study has already revealed that women security personnel are needed at various workplaces where men security guards are having difficulty interacting with females.

The study suggested that the presence of women at these sites would protect the privacy of women and ensure greater security.
