More than 200 female students have been reportedly dismissed by the Excellence College of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) based at Makkah.

Following the expulsion about three weeks ago, a disgruntled group of 40 female students and their parents gathered in front of the college and demanded that the TVTC form a committee to investigate these allegedly “unjustified” dismissals. According to local media, many parents noted that their daughters were incredibly frustrated by the decision.

Parents like Bader Salem, Hassan Mohammad and Ashraf Kharat said that their offsprings were dismissed on the grounds that their high school certificate was issued three years ago.

“But we came here today to know the real reasons for their expulsion,” they said.

They explained that the college’s decision came as a surprise to them because the facility had already administered all the acceptance tests and letters for their daughters, including the writing tests and the personal interviews, and they had already been given their college identification numbers and class schedules. “The college even made attendance records for them through the bio- print system,” they added.

The dismayed parents said that the action expelling their daughters from the college was not consistent with the school’s own admission procedures.
