AL-AHSA: The Al-Ahsa Festival for Dates and Palms (2015) was recently launched under the slogan “Homeland of Dates,” in the presence of Al-Ahsa Mayor Adel Al-Mulhim, who is the general supervisor of the festival being held in the King Abdullah ‘City of Dates’.

The launch of the fourth edition of the festival was attended by the chairman of the executive committee, Abdullah Al-Arfaj, and the chairman of the Dates Central Market in the city, Abdul Hamid Al-Halibi.

Al-Mulhim said: “The festival this year is a continuation of previous successes and is a reflection of the massive momentum achieved in previous years in terms of spreading the spirit of innovation in the marketing and supply of dates nation-wide.”

Al-Arfaj said all festival preparations were completed early this year in preparation for the dates season, as various meetings and workshops were held to develop plans and programs to make this year’s festival distinctive and proportionate to the level of date cultivation, production and marketing in the city.
