RIYADH: The United Bangsaranao Council (UBC), a coalition of over 40 Filipino organizations, has vowed to support Saudi Arabia’s campaign against terrorism, vices and any form of crimes.

Speaking to Arab News, UBC’s new chairman,“Sheikh” Soler Garlan of Baloi, Lanao del Norte, said: “Having spent most part of our lives in this blessed country, which is our second home, I am calling on our fellow OFW’s to support the Saudi leadership’s efforts to eliminate all forms of violence and terrorism.”

Expressing his “sincere congratulations to Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Salman and the people of this land,” he said: “We send them their heartfelt sympathies in the two incidents that happened in Makkah recently”

According to a manifesto, a copy of which is with Arab News, they will do their best within their resources, in accordance with the Laws of the KSA to cooperate and support unconditionally in the eradication of all forms of vices, immorality, and most especially violence and terrorism as manifestation of the true spirit of brotherly voluntarism in the defense of the global role of the KSA Government.

“We, the undersigned representatives of the various organizations coming from the Philippines residing in the KSA, are convinced that our role as Muslim migrant workers calls for social responsibilities as part of the concerted efforts to promote peace and defend the Kingdom,” says the declaration.

“We will pursue working together as a team for the continued brotherly relationship among ourselves for the attainment of peace, unity and solidarity among our members, and to abide by the laws of our country and most especially the KSA government.”

“We were deeply touched with high respect, amid so many messages of condolence with prayers, for the tragic events that happened during this year’s Haj, by the actions enunciated by the Kingdom which remains unparallel in terms of the compassionate concern and care for the victims that serve as an inspiration and model of a true and sincere leadership,” the declaration said.
