JEDDAH: The Royal Commission in Yanbu has launched a food safety campaign to spread awareness among students of primary and secondary schools in Yanbu about health, nutrition, safety and security principles.

The campaign, launched with the cooperation of the Department of Environmental Health on Wednesday, is in three phases — awareness through billboards and posters along main roads, educational programs in schools and and educating women about healthy ways to feed their children at home and in school.

Saud bin Eida Al-Maliki, assistant to Alaa bin Abdullah Nassif, chief executive officer of the Royal Commission in Yanbu, visited the schools to monitor the preparations for the new academic year and the food safety campaign in the city and at schools.

The official visited the classrooms, laboratories, halls, arenas, gyms.

He also met with the directors of schools, as well as teachers, and urged them to start the new academic year seriously and to create an attractive environment for students.
