A number of education directorates recently asserted their intention to employ female security guards during school exams, after the education directorate in Riyadh employed 180 female security guards during the exam period.

Mohammad Abdullah Al-Murshed, director general of education in Riyadh, told Arab News the directorate has deployed all its human, technical and material potential to provide a suitable atmosphere until the end of the examination term.

Al-Murshed called on all parents to take care of their children during this critical time by implementing their educational and awareness role. According to the educator, said parents should review the exam schedules and monitor their children’s conducts to protect them from any unwanted behavior.

To this purpose, schools and educational facilities are preparing to intervene in any health-related emergency. Hamad Al-Shanaibir, assistant director general for school affairs, said 75 clinics have been allocated to supervise the health of the pupils during the exam period, with 40 of these catering to boys and 35 to girls. Clinics are distributed inside high and middle school complexes and are fully equipped for early and speedy intervention in case of emergencies.

According to Jamila Al-Shalhoob, director of examination for girls Riyadh, exams start at 7:30 in the morning. She urged all pupils to abide by the rules, such as not taking mobile phones to the examination hall. Those who don’t show up for the exam will repeat it during the first two weeks of the second school term.

Reem Al-Harbi, director of school security and safety for girls in Riyadh, told Arab News that over 180 temporary female security guards have been employed. Al-Harbi added that a number of government authorities have cooperated with the education directorates to guarantee a smooth examination period, such as the police, the Promotion for the Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, the Red Crescent as well as Civil Defense.
