The Qassim Municipality recently removed 4 million square meters of encroachment on government land in various parts of Buraidah city.

Muhammad Al-Suwail, the general director of the land department at Qassim Municipality, said in a press statement that inspection teams that regularly monitor government land detected numerous encroachments and that 4 million square meters had been restored.

He said the municipality eradicated changes made on these land following the implementation of formal procedures with the support of Qassim Gov. Prince Faisal bin Bandar and the help of the police.

The municipality’s priority is to safeguard government properties from such encroachments, he said, adding that the agency strives to achieve such goals through concerted efforts in the field, and monitoring land with the cooperation of other government bodies. 

The encroached plots of land are located to the east and west of Buraidah city.

The municipality allotted government agencies 13 million square meters of land for use by health, education and community services.
