The Ministry of Social Affairs has donated 22 specially designed cars for people with disabilities in the Eastern Province.

The Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center in Dammam delivered the cars. There are now 210 people on the waiting list, out of 444 who applied.

Ali Al-Shahrani, director of the center, said that the deliveryfollowed a royal order issued to the Social Affairs Ministry.

He said applications can be submitted on the ministry's website. Successful applicants have a choice in terms of the type of vehicles they need, he said.

The center is preparing to celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities, and would hold several events at shopping malls, hospitals and universities in the region, he said.
