Basmat Amal, a humanitarian group, organized an educational kit distribution program for the deprived children in Jeddah recently.

The campaign, which aimed at relieving the less fortunate students of superfluous concerns, distributed school bags and complete stationery to over 60 children on the occasion of the beginning of the new academic year.

Ribhy Yahiya, co-founder of Basmat Amal (Smile of Hope), said: “As a part of the community outreach initiative, we try our best to provide all the humanitarian aids to the poor and the needy families. Through this project, our goal is to support the educational needs of the children and increase their access to education as well as to make a positive difference in the lives of the underprivileged families.”

The educational kits also included note books, text books, lunch boxes and water bottles needed by the child for the academic year.

Besides the distribution program, the volunteers of the group entertained the children by arranging a wide range of fun activities.

Several volunteers came forward to support the initiative and to encourage the culture of giving and sharing.

Ghadeer Abdullah, a student and member of the group, said: “Basmat Amal believes in finding new opportunities to reach out to the needy. It feels great to give back to the community and be a part of the meaningful project that improves the lives of the poor.”
