Female inspectors of the Al-Ahsa Municipality seized 665 illegal and dangerous products during raids on shops here over the last two months.

Badr Al-Shihab, spokesman for the municipality, said the confiscated items included expired hair dyes, oil mixtures and cosmetics unfit for use. Six beauty shops were shut down and 50 others received warnings. The municipality penalized several violators.

Al-Shihab said citizens are important partners in the fight against crime and should report violations on the direct number 940, the municipality’s website via “Your Voice is Heard” service, the unified number 920011050 or on WhatsApp number 0548368888.

He said women can apply for business licenses by going to the women's management department at the municipality. Inspectors would first check out the site where the business would be established before issuing a license. The department issued 77 licenses for women's professional activities over the past 10 months, he added.
