RIYADH: The Ministry of Labor has urged Saudi citizens and companies seeking to hire Yemeni workers to register their details with its Ajeer system online.

The portal administers the recruitment of workers who have corrected their status. Those eligible for hire are Yemeni workers who had been given six-month renewable visas, said Tayseer Al-Mufarrej, spokesman of the ministry.

Users must enter the visa number of the person so that the system can verify information before a notice is issued, said Al-Mufarrej.

The Ajeer system, which aims to organize and document foreign labor, would allow applications even now that the deadline for workers to rectify their status ended on Aug. 16.

The Ajeer portal documents the contractual relations between establishments, including employment contracts.
