More than 75 senior students, from different schools, attended a variety of educational and cultural programs, organized by Students India’s Yanbu Chapter, at a private auditorium here recently. “The event was a big success in terms of participation and organization,” said Yahya Muhammed, the chapter’s captain.

In his presidential address, Midlaj, Students India’s resource team leader, urged parents to encourage their children to join the organization.

“Students India is well organized and has a wide network of highly qualified people, who are socially motivated and work for the well being of the student community. We stive to motivate students to achieve their greatest potential,” he said.

There were two sessions deemed to be attractive to both parents and students. Sabu, chief patron, gave an interactive presentation entitled “Ignite the spark within you,” in which students and their parents actively participated. Emphasizing the importance of value-based learning, Sabu said, “Students must keep their goal in mind, to come up with workable solutions.”

Speaking on the topic of “Eminence through persistence”, Shimna Shakkir, managing director of Kenz International school, described iExcel handbook as a motivating instrument and source of inspiration for students in the Gulf.

One of the highlights of the HORIZONS 2012 event was the pleasant group songs and thought provoking mimes presented by senior students in Radhwa International School.

Meena Samson, a teacher, coordinated the cultural activities, whilst students from Al Manar International, Yanbu International School and Al Isra International School were the anchors. It is also noteworthy to mention that Jabir Vaniyambalam, chief resource person, supervised all the activities.

“The children greatly enjoyed the evening, displaying their wonderful skills and talents,” said Noushad, a lecturer at Yanbu Industrial College.

“The function proved that our children have marvelous capabilities. If we provide them with proper guidance and encouragement, they can create wonders,” said Abdul Wadood Khan, principal of Radhwa International.

Engineer Mohammed Khader, chairman, and Rasheed Kappil, principal of Al Manar School, were equally impressed by Students India’s activities, and promised to support its programs to develop teenagers’ talents and positively mold their personalities.

Moreover, many other prominent figures expressed their delight for being given the opportunity to participate in such an event, including Chairman of Kenz International, Shimna Shakkir, Preetha Anantharaman from Yanbu International and Shiji Joseph of Al Isra International. Parents also commended the organizers for a successful event.
