The Jeddah Emergency and Crises Directorate held an introductory meeting to coordinate catastrophe committees for government hospitals in Jeddah. Twelve coordinators from various hospitals in the Jeddah governorate met with officials at public hospitals in Rabigh, Addam and Al-Leith.

Mohammad Bajbair, director-general of Crises and Emergencies at Jeddah Health Affairs, said the meeting put special emphasis on the tasks required of coordinators.

Coordinators, he said, should follow up on emergency plans in their facilities, check the names of doctors and nurses on a monthly basis and make sure they are familiar with further tasks allocated to them.

Bajbair said the meeting is an extension of programs offered by the Emergency and Crises Directorate to improve responding to catastrophes and offer quality medication and medical equipment to medial teams.




He said this meeting complemented the efforts of Jeddah Health Affairs to raise the level of readiness of government health facilities in dealing with crises and catastrophes. The meeting also conducted virtual experiments inside and outside private and government hospitals.
